Mission of our Club

The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop and practice communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Some recent highlights for our club

 

Club members at a Theme Meeting. We normally hold 2 special theme meetings each year.		The club celebrates its birthday with a special function every September.
Place getters in the Club Speech Contest held in December 2009. 2nd Alicia Denis, 1st David Griffiths, 3rd Kirsten Linklater. David then won the Area 13, Western Division and District 70 contests.		The proudest club in town! Some of our Club members with 2010/11 President David Griffiths, the District 70 2011 International Speech Contest winner, at the first club meeting after the contest.
Place getters in the Club 2011 Evaluation Contest held in January. 2nd Elaine Aviola, 1st Alicia Denis, 3rd Wendy Nielsen. Alicia won the Area 13 Contest and was runner-up at Western Division.		Place getters in the Club 2011 Humorous Speech Contest, David Griffiths 1st, Ron Marriott 2nd, Peter Steinhour 3rd with Area Governor Jodie Robertson.
Member and Past International Director Gary Wilson was recognised for 40 years of membership at the District Conference in May 2010.		Member and Past District Governor John Taylor was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the March 2011 Oscars Theme Meeting.
